PerformFeminism.com

2009

PerformFeminism.com was an interactive website that tracked the history of feminist performance art with a timeline linked to descriptions of live acts alongside video and photographic documentation and links to further information. The works on the site encompassed myriad approaches including works developed out of consciousness raising sessions and activism to monologue-based one-woman shows as well as audio and dance-based works. The site attempted to illustrate the breadth of feminist performance art from its inception through to the contemporary moment, while also making evident the points of connection that occur between women performance artists across generations, nationalities and race. [The site is currently offline, pending redesign and further funding.]
